A few years ago I had the opportunity to visit the city of Havana and appreciate it in another way and I got to see how its people express themselves through the rum, sports, and music. Using vibrant and fruity ingredients I’m seeking to represent the streets of the Caribbean every weekend, especially on the Cubans Malecón.
Add ingredients into shaker with ice, shake and fine strain. Garnish with spiced mango slices.
"The inspiration for this cocktail comes from the memory of two of my favourite treats; A salty one (green mango with spices and lemon) which I could always found being sold on the street corner and the second a sweet and tangy one (Tamarin lollipops). Usually my grandma would treat me with one after helping her to do the shopping. The feeling this cocktail evokes is my way of paying tribute to the cultural relationship between Venezuela and Cuba. Celebrating the very particular way that the Cuban people like to celebrate life regardless of its adversities, the way people take opportunities and use them to enjoy the simplest (often most beautiful) moments of life."
